We hope everyone is healthy and safe. The SCAA Board of Directors and Sports Commissioners met on Thursday, 8/6/2020, to determine next steps for the Fall sports seasons. The Board reviewed the revised NC Safer at Home Phase 2 and NCHSAA guidelines and determined the Fall sports seasons would operate per CDC recommendations. SCAA is planning for safe and fun Fall sports seasons for baseball, softball, cheerleading, and modified soccer. Sign-up online.
However, SCAA received an update from Pop Warner Little Panthers stating the season is cancelled...
From PWLP (8/6/2020)...
Good Evening Pop Warner Little Panthers‘ Family!
With heavy hearts we must inform you that we are canceling our fall season of tackle football for Pop Warner. After learning that we will still be in Phase 2 through September 11, we had no choice. To play full contact tackle football our area must be in Phase 4 (per Pop Warner Return to Play guidelines). Seeing as that would put us well into November, we can’t delay that long without overlapping Winter sports and causing too many conflicts.
As a result, SCAA would like to offer our members the following options for paid tackle football registrations:
Credit: Members can use their paid sport fee as a credit for the upcoming Fall or Spring sports season.
Donation: Members can donate the paid sports fee to the Association to cover the cost of maintenance of the park (this would be a tax-deductible donation).
Refund: Members can apply for a refund and the Association will issue those minus any uniform cost (you will be given the uniform). Refunds are sent back to the same payment method used for registration (credit/debit card)
Sincerely, SCAA Board of Directors and Sports Commissioners
