Steele Creek Charlotte, NC youth athletics and sports. Soccer, softball, baseball and cheerleading. Ages from 3 to 16 years old. SCAA is community athletic since 1958.
Technical Director (TD) (OPEN)
It is preferable for the TD to not be an active head or assistant coach of any SCSC team at the time of nomination or during the duration of their tenure serving as TD. The TD is a volunteer and is unpaid. The TD may be paid by SCSC for any training sessions managed at the agreed rate. The TD shall work directly with the coaches and general managers and shall report to the President. He/she shall be responsible for the curriculum and training of coaches including arranging coaches clinics as required. The TD shall be responsible for creating and implementing a Club training curriculum. The TD shall work with the respective team/coaches to training the respective club teams (U12 and under at a cost agreed to by the club) and (U13 and above at a cost set by the board). The TD (in conjunction with General Managers and coaches) shall develop, implement, and conduct player evaluations format, as set forth in the “Steele Creek Soccer Club – Guidelines for Player & Coach Selection” manual and approved by the board. The TD shall assist the General Manager for that group and Coaches in the placement of players to specific teams. The TD shall assist the General Managers in approving the NCYSA bracketing forms. Subject to Board approval, the TD shall enlist personnel to assist in creating and implementing the training curriculum for the SCSC summer camp. The TD will make a good faith effort to attend as many SCSC games as possible and assist the manager in the management of those games. The TD shall be responsible for the interviewing, scheduling and may recommend to the Board, the hiring of assistant trainers to satisfy the Club’s training needs. The TD shall be a non-voting member of the board.
General Managers (Group to be Over Must Be Specified) (OPEN)
The General Managers (GMs) shall be the direct liaison between the coaches and the Board. The review and approval of the NCYSA bracketing forms. He/she shall be responsible for providing tournament information to the coaches. The GMs shall report directly to the Club President. General Managers shall chair a Coaches Selection Committee which will be selected by the President and/or the Board of Directors. The criteria used by the Coaches Selection Committee shall be set forth in the “Steele Creek Soccer Club – Guidelines for Player & Coach Selection” manual. General Managers may appoint an Assistant General Manager to help carry out duties if necessary to be approved by the board by a simple majority. If General Managers are unavailable, Assistant General Managers will assume their duties. General Managers may represent the club as Delegates at NCYSA meetings. General Managers are non-voting members of the Board of Directors unless also holding a voting position (8.A.)
Publicity Coordinator (OPEN)
The Publicity Coordinator shall coordinate and distribute all information concerning SCSC to the general public through the various news media. The Publicity Coordinator shall be responsible for providing the local newspaper with weekly game reports. The Publicity Coordinator shall report to the Vice President. The Publicity Coordinator shall organize, write, print and distribute a club Newsletter. The newsletter shall start with May Registration and continue through the end of Fall Season. The newsletter may be distributed through the coaches/team parents along with the monthly meeting minutes.
Uniforms Coordinator (OPEN)
The Uniforms Coordinator shall be responsible for the timely selection, procurement and distribution of player Board approved uniforms, goalkeeper shirts, and shirts for coaches and Board members. The Uniforms Coordinator shall form a committee to make uniform recommendations to the Board. The uniforms coordinator shall report to the Soccer Operations Manager.
Awards Coordinator (OPEN)
The Awards Coordinator shall be responsible for the procurement of all trophies and awards for SCSC and for the scheduling and preparation of the Awards ceremony. The Awards Coordinator shall report to the Registrar.
Fund Raiser Coordinator (OPEN)
The Fund Raiser Coordinator shall be responsible for establishment and management of all fund raising activities excluding sponsorships and concessions. The Fund Raiser Coordinator shall report to the Vice President.
Banquet Coordinator (OPEN)
The Awards Banquet Coordinator shall be responsible for planning, organizing, and hosting the Awards Banquet at the end of the Fall season. The Awards Banquet Coordinator shall report to the Vice President.
Soccer Camp Coordinator (OPEN)
The Soccer Camp Coordinator shall be responsible for an annual summer soccer camp for SCSC. The Soccer Camp Coordinator shall report to the Soccer Operations Manager.
Team Pictures Coordinator (OPEN)
The Team Pictures Coordinator shall be responsible for the scheduling and distribution of team pictures and procurement of a professional photographer for the Team Pictures. The Team Pictures Coordinator shall report to the Registrar.
Team Manager Coordinator(s) (OPEN)
The Team Parent Coordinator(s) shall be responsible for coordinating with and disseminating information to all Team Parents. The Team Parent Coordinator shall report to the Parent & Player Liaison.
Statistician (OPEN)
The Statistician shall be responsible for tracking and reporting all club statistics to the Board and club members through the coaches. He/she shall report to the Soccer Operations Manager.
Web Content Coordinator (WCC) (FILLED)
The WCC shall maintain SCSC’s Internet Web pages. The WCC shall receive direction from Board of Directors for Web site content. The WCC shall maintain electronic backup files of Web content. The WCC shall work with the publicity coordinator and report to the Vice President.
Tournament Director (OPEN)
The Tournament Director shall be responsible for administering all tournaments hosted by SCSC. The tournament director shall report to the Soccer Operations Manager.
Past President (TBD)
In the event that the Past President will not or cannot serve, his/her immediate predecessor may take the position. If neither individual serves the position will remain vacant. Past President is a non-voting member of the Board of Directors (unless holding a voting position found in Article 7). Past President shall chair the Nomination Committee. Should there not be a past president on the Board; the Board shall select a voting member not on the board to chair this committee. This committee shall function as defined in the nominating committee guidelines.
