SCAA is coming off a successful 2019 year.  The community celebrated quite a bit of 'on the field' success with numerous Seahawk football teams competing in and winning their bowl games, the Jr All Star baseball team won the Little League District tournament and the Seagals qualifying for cheer competitions at Disney World.  Also, the total SCAA family memberships are up 7% over last year.

The SCAA board wants to continue this positive momentum by offering three Positive Coaching Alliance workshops in 2020!

The first workshop involves the board and is called LEADING YOUR ORGANIZATION: Developing a Positive Coaching Culture.

The second workshop is DOUBLE-GOAL COACH®: Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons. This workshop establishes PCA’s premise that youth and high school sports entail the goal of winning and the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports. Each attendee leaves as a PCA-certified Double-Goal Coach, learning how to Coach for Mastery of Sport (Not Just the Scoreboard); Fill Emotional Tanks; and Honor the Game.

The expectation is for ALL SCAA coaches (head coaches, assistants, team reps) to be a PCA-certified Double-Goal Coach.  This hands-on workshop was held January 28, 2020.

The third workshop will be for SCAA PARENTS and will be held on 3/28/2020 (time TBD), which also coincides with opening day for some spring sports. ALL PARENTS ARE REQUESTED TO ATTEND to learn: what they should expect from their childs' coaches, what is expected from PARENTS when on the sidelines, and some do's/don'ts when talking to their players about their playing experience.
